DUSK of the planet of the apes by Tom Kelly

This was for the Challengers Assemble Sketch blog, the theme for that week was "APES". This theme really was a fun chance to draw any type of Ape related character or concept you wanted. So I choose PLANET of the APES which is from movies,tv, and comic books it's really a very long lived franchise. My Planet of the Apes illustration is a mash up of elements from the original film ans well as the new current film, with a little bit of the comic styling thrown in for good measure. Just in case your wondering I'm a big big fan of the original film in all of it's 1970's glory.

I created this illustration using my wacom tablet with the programs Adobe photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6 to create the main type by modifying a font own.
