GrooT and Rocket by artist Tom Kelly

Here is another cool Illustration I did for the Challengers Assemble Sketch blog, this week the was theme was "Guardians of the galaxy" The Marvel characters first created in the late 70's to expand the Marvel line into a bunch of cosmic and space heroes (star wars was NEW and huge at that time). The Guardians of the galaxy have had several different members costumes and different looks over the years. These guys are two of the more modern guys they are Groot the tree man who bye the way only says I am Groot and Rocket raccoon( who is kinda like a space version of Howard the duck) .The Guardians of the galaxy are being made into an upcoming feature film so they are getting some love these days.

I created this illustration using blue pencil,Pen and ink, gray copic markers, a toothbrush and some fw white ink for some touch ups, on 11x17 Bristol board.
