Description
Hey all here is another cool illustration I did for the Sketch Lottery blog. Now this One is a little different in that its a variant of another piece you can see the original here:
The Subject was the Marvel comics character Quasar who is a space character and in the original illustration I had him flying in a black on white field. In this version I flipped the negative and now the background looks like standard regular cosmic space.
I made this variant very simply which was that I took the original into photoshop duplicated it to another layer, then inverted the bottom layer, then made a layer mask using the pen tool to isolate the figure. Then stroked the path with white to help hide the seem.
That is how I got this space effect. Hope you did this one!

I created this pen and ink using micron pens and a sable brush for the black parts. I then used FW white ink with small tooth brush for a few tiny spatter effects. Then I use Photoshop like I said above.
